I really hate posting site news, but here we go:
1. The font has been changed to a color with better contrast. Namely the color black, which is a new color that I understand has just been invented to show up really well against white backgrounds. What do you think? Obviously a big part of this site is people reading it, so I want to make it as easy as possible for you to do that.
I’m going to change the hyperlinks and menus to better reflect the old color scheme, but that’s going to take some time as I have to figure out how to code the Stylesheet file… I’ll stop talking about css code before someone gets too excited. I understand you’re all only human and there’s only so much flesh can bear.
2. I have divided the archives into categories. There’s still a master archive list if you click, but if you hover for a second there’s also a sub menu that will show you just certain kinds of entries. This is probably mostly for people who are new to the site, but it’s there if any of you want to go poke and look at it.
Just so you know, this took a long long time. I was completely unaware of how much crap I have written.
3. There is also a fiction section. Nobody worry that I am going to stop writing other kinds of stories all of the sudden. I just want to develop my fiction muscles since that’s what I want to do when I’m a “grown up writer” and since you’re here anyway… you’re my captive audience. So ha! Even negative feedback is appreciated in the fiction.
Seriously, even if your reaction is just a “meh” I’d like to know how “meh.”
Gray Bolt will be done by the end of this month. I’m about four or five chapters from the end, but they’re long chapters and a lot has to happen. It would have been done sooner but the site crashed and I had to deal with all that bullcrap.
I’m currently trying to get published in on-line sci-fi short story magazines to build up some credentials so I’ll mention that here and archive a link in the fiction section when and if that happens. If I get a story rejected I’ll just go ahead and put it up in the Fiction Section.
4. There are other changes in the pipeline but as they won’t super affect the site even when they’re up so I’ll mention those when they happen.
