When my dad lost his job, I started to worry. I worried about what he was going to do with the rest of his life. I worried about how he was going to make ends meet. And I worried about how the hell he was ever going to get back on his feet. Hell, I’m still worried.
When Adam Carolla lost his job on KLSX last Friday, I was surprised, then I shrugged and said “I wonder what he’s going to do next?” That was the whole of it.
I was not worried. Not in the slightest.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve been a fan of Adam Carolla’s for years. Due to the spectacular one way nature of radio, I even feel like I know him in the same way that my readers know me. He’s a touchstone that’s been there almost all of my adult life, and when he lost his job I did not have one second of doubt that he would not be back on his feet in as much time as it took him to stand up again without any huffing or self-pity. I was right.
This very Monday, just days after he was let go, Adam Carolla had a podcast up on his website with a promise to have another one up every day for at least the next ten months. In fact, for tomorrow’s podcast Dr. Drew is going to come on as a guest and I have never been so excited about eavesdropping on someone else’s conversation.
Adam is not making any money off his new venture. All he wants are your ears, and he asked everyone within the sound of his voice to tell others about his new podcast, and I’m taking up the call. Since I have asses and eyeballs coming to this site every day, I figured the least I could do was send your ears to someone I like.
You can find Adam Carolla’s new show at Carolla Radio. He also has a messageboard which you find here.
All I ask is that if you enjoy the podcast you tell others about it and keep coming back. If you have a blog and feel so inspired, post about it there. Like I said, no money is changing hands in this venture. All you have to do is show up and listen, and bring a friend if you are so inclined.
I don’t know where this is going yet, but I have a feeling it’s going to go somewhere good.
Mahalo,
BC
